Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Road Tool Handbook collects and how it is used.

1. Information we collect

We collect the information you choose to submit through our forms. On the subscribe page this may include your full name, email address, and, if you select an SMS category, your mobile phone number. On the contact page this includes your name, email address, subject, and message.

When you submit an SMS consent selection we also record the selected category, the consent timestamp, the page the consent was given on, the version of the consent disclosure shown to you, your browser user agent, and, where available through our backend, the IP address of the request.

2. How we use information

We use the information you provide to send the Basic Vehicle Tool Guide Series you requested, to reply to written inquiries, to send text messages for the categories you selected, and to keep a record of consent.

3. SMS communications

Our text message program sends educational messages about common automotive tools, roadside equipment, tool selection, maintenance uses, and safe handling, plus messages related to a request you submit yourself. The categories currently offered are:

  • Account Notifications. Messages sent in response to account or guide requests.
  • Marketing. Up to 4 recurring messages per month.

SMS consent is optional and is never a condition of purchase, access, or use of this website. Each category requires its own unchecked box. Msg and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for help. Full program details are in our SMS Terms of Service.

4. Mobile opt-in information

Mobile opt-in data, SMS consent, and phone numbers collected for SMS purposes will not be sold, shared, rented, released, or transferred to insurance carriers, agents, brokers, lead aggregators, or third-party marketers for marketing, lead generation, or promotional purposes.

5. Cookies and analytics

This website may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for the site to function and, where enabled, basic aggregate analytics that help us understand which guides are read. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles.

6. Data retention

We keep subscription and consent records for as long as your subscription is active and afterwards only as long as needed to show that consent was given and later withdrawn. Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to handle the inquiry.

7. Opt-out rights

You may reply STOP to any message to end that SMS program. You may also email team@roadtoolhandbook.com to ask us to stop sending messages, to unsubscribe from email guides, or to request deletion of the information you submitted.

8. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information submitted through this website. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's privacy

This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Third-party links

Our guides may link to manufacturer documentation or other external resources. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the website changes. The revised version will be posted on this page.
